Visainformationen für Studierende
Für Studienaufenthalte an akkreditierten U.S. Universities / Colleges gibt es zwei Visakategorien:
F-1 Visum:
Bei privat organisierten Aufenthalten. Die US Universität stellt nach der Zusage für den Studienplatz das Formular I-20 aus, mit dem man um das Visum ansuchen kann.
J-1 Visum:
Bei Aufenthalten, die von amerikanischer Seite (teil-)finanziert werden, z.B. Joint-Study Programmen, offizielle Austauschprogramme, wie das Fulbright Studienstipendienprogramm. Das für den Visumsantrag notwendige Formular DS-2019 wird von der Förderinstitution ausgestellt.
Visumsbeantragung
Die Visumsbeantragung läuft über das U.S. Konsulat in Wien. Nähere Informationen finden Sie auf der Homepage unter: http://austria.usembassy.gov/niv.html.
