Comments: The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna offers an international forum for experimentation in contemporary art and architecture and understands itself as a venue where theory and practice as well as science and art meet. It is seeking a distinguished lecturer on critical visual studies and media studies as contemporary art forms, who is in a position to negotiate the interface between theory and practice in the arts.

Assignment: A flexible combination of teaching and research activities that entails at least two class sessions (90 minutes each) per week and may include advising or supervising advanced students. Format, content, and level of the individual courses (advanced undergraduate, graduates) are negotiated with the host institution.
Language: Instruction is in English. Some knowledge of German is advantageous but not required.
Benefits: Euro 4,360 per month, a travel grant of Euro 800 for the grantee only, health and accident insurance, and monthly allowances of Euro 145 per accompanying dependent (up to 3). Housing costs are paid by the grantee.
