Fulbright/Freud Visiting Lecturer/Scholar of Psychoanalysis, 2011-2012

   
  An annual one semester Fulbright/Freud Visiting Lecturer/Scholar grant (October-February or March-July) will provide U.S. scholars with an opportunity to conduct research at the Sigmund Freud Museum in Vienna and to teach between one and two lecture courses or seminars at a Viennese host institution. Details on teaching are to be arranged by the Sigmund Freud Foundation and the Austrian Fulbright Commission.

Specializations(s): human sciences, theory, application and/or practice of psychoanalysis.

Additional qualifications: Several years of teaching/lecturing or professional experience in relevant fields of psychoanalysis. Applicants should explain why their research needs to be conducted in Vienna.

Language: The Commission expects Fulbright-Freud scholars to have a high level of German proficiency, although English may be used as the language of instruction.

Comments: Applicants are required to solicit letters of invitation from the Sigmund Freud Privatstiftung by submitting a curriculum vitae and a teaching and/or teaching/research proposal. Award recipients will have access to work station in the library of the Sigmund Freud Museum, Berggasse 19.

Benefits: This award includes a travel grant of Euro 800, medical and accident insurance, and a monthly stipend of Euro 3,300 per month for four months.

The application deadline for the 2011/2012 academic year is August 2, 2010.
