Grant Activity: Conduct research in Austria and Hungary in collaboration with Austrian and Hungarian specialists and scholars
Specialization: Open to all disciplines and topics in the humanities and social sciences, provided that proposals have a strong bilateral Austrian-Hungarian or regional emphasis, including, but not limited to, the arts, economics, ecology, European integration, European Union expansion, geography, history (1526-present) and political science.
Language Requirement: Research may be in English, German, and/or Hungarian, as appropriate to the project.
Location: Applicants must arrange affiliations and include letters of invitation.
Length of grant: 2 months Austria; 2 months Hungary
Application: Deadline is August 1, 2009.
Starting date: Research should be completed between September 2010 and June 2011.
Comments: This award is crosslisted under Hungary in the CIES catalogue.
Benefits: 2 months using Austrian research grant schedule (Euro 2,200 per month for grantee only; no dependent allowance); two months using Hungarian researcher schedule (USD 1,800 per month; housing allowance of up to 90,000 forints per month and living allowance of up to 40,000 forints per month, no dependent travel or dependent allowance). Travel allowance of USD 1,000 (costs to be covered 50:50 by Austrian and Hungarian Commissions).
