The Austrian Fulbright Commission and the IFK Internationales Forschungszentrum Kulturwissenschaften in Vienna are pleased to announce that they will collaborate in offering grants to U.S. scholars and graduate students of cultural studies for the academic year 2009-2010. Fulbright/IFK_Junior Fellows Fulbright/IFK_Junior Fellows in Cultural Studies will receive grants for the full academic year 2009/2010 (October - June). These grants are specifically designed for U.S. graduate students/Ph.D. candidates in cultural studies, whose research interests are related to Viennese, Austrian and Central European traditions and/or IFK's interest in the promotion of interdisciplinary and comparative cultural studies. Junior Fellows will have an opportunity to work with IFK_fellows and to participate in IFK_seminars, workshops, and symposia. IFK will provide them with access to a work station with a computer, e-mail, and Internet connection on its premises. These awards include a travel grant, health and accident insurance, and a monthly stipend of € 1.200,-/month for nine months. The application deadline for the 2009/2010 academic year is in October 2008. Students should contact Fulbright Program Coordinators at the institutions in which they are currently enrolled.
