On 8 November 2025, Fulbright Austria collaborated with 2022–23 Austrian Fulbright FLTA Winfried “Winni” Stangl to organize a “Finding fungi” event that gave Winni an opportunity to share his passion and expertise for fungi with members of the community. The day began with a lecture by Winni at the University of Innsbruck followed by a spirited discussion and Q&A session. Attendees continued the conversation during lunch before taking a bus up to the mountains. The group then wandered through the woods, putting their newly acquired knowledge to the test as the group spread out in search of mushrooms.
