One of the goals for US Scholar Judson Clements (Appalachian State University/MCI) for his Fulbright grant was to implement a dual degree Master's program between the two institutions: "The mission of the dual program is to provide graduate education in two-country and two-university environments in order to graduate future interdisciplinary science and engineering experts. The advantages that students from both institutions will gain are incalculable. These students will graduate from two universities, having an opportunity to look for jobs in both countries or elsewhere and successfully competing with their peers in the same fields of study with only one diploma. In addition, many companies have offices and plants in many countries around the world. The two degrees would be Mechatronics (electrical engineering) from MCI and Engineering Physics from ASU."
