The BeSt³ - the Job, Training and Education Fair in Vienna (BeSt³ - Die Messe für Beruf, Studium und Weiterbildung) is Austria’s largest and most important educational fair, serving over 40,000 high school graduates and university students annually. This year’s BeSt³ opened its doors March 7–10, 2019, in the Wiener Stadthalle, and EducationUSA and Fulbright Austria staff were on hand throughout the fair to provide thousands of students with individualized advice about studying in the US and Fulbright scholarships. Within the framework of the educational fair, Fulbright Austria executive director Dr. Lonnie Johnson presented to a large audience on the wide variety of study opportunities in the US in an interview with panel moderator Daniela Soykan. Couldn’t make it to our first-ever Fulbright Austria Summer Fest? Take a peek and see what six decades of Austrian and American alumni had to say about their life-changing Fulbright experience from 1951 to 2018! More than 80 alumni and friends visited the Fulbright Austria office in the MQ – MuseumsQuartier Wien on June 6 and enjoyed the sunshine on our terrace. We also are pleased to report that all donations received for Austrian grants will be matched from an incentive fund of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF), resulting in more than €13,000 raised this June. You can still take a peek inside and see what six decades of Austrian and American alumni had to say about their life-changing Fulbright experience. The dinner was held on “Giving Tuesday” and kicked off our first-ever fundraising campaign: “Fulbright – Now More than Ever.” Over 100 donors contributed more than €15,000 to help us keep sending Austrians and Americans across the Atlantic, and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy will be matching their donations! Thanks, TV Salon am Naschmarkt, for the great video.
