This year’s annual Fulbright Seminar in American Studies took place May 2–4, 2019, in the beautiful Salzkammergut in the province of Salzburg. The annual seminar, which took place on the grounds of the Bundesinstitut für Erwachsenenbildung (bifeb) in Strobl, brings Austrian and American students, scholars, and teaching assistants together for an exciting series of lectures, research presentations, and informational sessions that highlight the achievements of our current US cohorts while preparing our outgoing Austrian cohorts for their own productive Fulbright experiences in the US. Every seminar is different because it features the interests and areas of expertise of our current cohorts. As such, this year's seminar included lectures on diverse themes such as gender and sexuality, multiculturalism, and climate change as well as an exclusive concert arranged by current US Fulbright students that set the tone for three days full of networking, exchange, and support among peers and friends.
