In 2016, Julia Buchholz graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in international business management and a minor in German. She then began working in Chicago as a financial consultant but was always looking for opportunities to use her German minor. When Julia was offered a teaching assistantship through Fulbright Austria, she was thrilled to accept. She can’t wait to see how this experience shapes and develops her both personally and professionally. She will be working in a general Gymnasium as well a business-focused school and is really looking forward to using her professional experiences to bring more first-hand insights to her students.
During her time in Austria, she plans on exploring as much of this beautiful country as possible and is simultaneously excited to build a community in her “hometown” of Graz. This program is the perfect chance for Julia to gain an authentic understanding of the Austrian way of life and become familiar with all of the everyday subtleties that only come from living in a foreign country.
