Doris Donelan is from Peterborough, a very small town in New Hampshire. She attended Skidmore College, where she studied social work and German. She is very passionate about social-justice issues and advocacy work. During her time at Skidmore, she co-created a club dedicated to voter registration and turning out the student vote during elections. In summer 2019 she interned for Julián Castro's presidential campaign in her home state of New Hampshire. During her junior year at Skidmore, she studied abroad in Freiburg, Germany. She knew as soon as she left that she wanted to be in a place again where she could speak German all the time. She is thus so excited to be living in Austria and is most looking forward to exploring the town of Baden, where she teaches, and, of course, Viennese coffee houses. When she was 11, she lived in Vienna for four months with her family, and she is so happy to be returning to the region. In her free time, she likes to run, knit, bike, hike, eat good food, and, most of all, read.
