Lindsay Kowaleski grew up in rural Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, where she double majored in German education and Spanish education. During her time at the university, she was able to study in Granada, Spain, for a semester and in Lüneburg, Germany, for three months over the summer. After graduation, Lindsay spent three and a half years teaching middle-school and high-school German and Spanish at a small private school in Wisconsin, during which time she organized the school’s Germany Exchange Program and led two different month-long student trips to their exchange school in Bavaria.

Lindsay is very much looking forward to spending a second year in Austria and getting to share her Midwestern culture with students in Austria, as well as learning more about Austrian culture and traditions to share with her students when she returns to the United States.
