Nesrin El-Isa is an educator, activist, and youth worker. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in culturally sustaining education at the University of Washington in Seattle. Previously, she received both her bachelor and master of education in secondary-teacher education (English & history) from the University of Vienna. Her research focuses include hybrid identity research, migration and gender, postcolonial theories, racial representation in media and popular culture, and culturally and linguistically responsive teaching.
She is also currently working on an oral-history project about senior Austrian Muslims in cooperation with the Österreichische Mediathek.
