Ingrid Geier is professor of educational science at the University of Teacher Education Salzburg Stefan Zweig. She is head of the competence center "New Teaching and Learning Methods" and teaches methodology, active citizenship learning, and new learning and teaching methods. As head of the competence center, Prof. Geier runs several research projects—including on self-organized learning, active civic learning, and using ePortfolio in internships—always linking theory and practice.

Her last publications include: "Active Citizenship Learning as a Conceptual Differentiation to Familiar Concepts of Service Learning and Civic Engagement in Higher Education"; "Selbstorganisiertes Lernen in der schulischen Praxis"; "Partizipieren bedeutet miteinander und voneinander lernen" (with Schober, Ch. & Niderreiter, H.); and "Active Citizenship Learning in Higher Education".
