We are thrilled to continue our 2025–26 Bundesländertour, which will consist of a special series of meet-&-greet events across Austria aimed at bringing our vibrant community together. Throughout the 2025–26 program year, we'll be visiting a different province as part of our Bundesländertour, giving current program participants, alums, partner institutions, and friends of Fulbright Austria an opportunity to connect locally with fellow community members and to learn about upcoming activities. And the first round of drinks is on us, our way of saying thank you for being part of this incredible journey!
In March 2026, we’ll be in Styria, where our Graz-based event will provide a cozy gathering space for our community in the green heart of Austria. The event is co-organized by the Fulbright Austria Alum Chapter Styria and the Austro-American Society for Styria in cooperation with the Center for Inter-American Studies.
During the meet & greet, attendees will be treated to a panel discussion featuring members of the Fulbright Austria community. And prior to the event, we're offering a tour of Graz with an interesting perspective!
Program
- 16:00 – Colonial Entanglements: A political urban walk through Graz (Meeting point: in front of the entrance to the main building at the University of Graz (Universitätsplatz 3, 8010 Graz)
- The Colonial Entanglements walk through Graz attempts to uncover various traces of colonial heritage, colonial presence, and resistance to it in Graz. The walk will visit places in Graz that tell us something about three interwoven dimensions: colonial and racist symbols, "soft" colonialism that has characterized Austria from the times of the Habsburg monarchy to present day in southeastern Europe, and current neocolonial and imperial entanglements. As we walk, we can enter into dialogue and share experiences and resistant knowledge.
