She is currently pursuing her master's degree in culturally sustaining education at the University of Washington in Seattle. Previously, she received both her bachelor and master of education in secondary-teacher education (English & history) from the University of Vienna. Her research focuses include hybrid identity research, migration and gender, postcolonial theories, racial representation in media and popular culture, and culturally and linguistically responsive teaching.
She is also currently working on an oral-history project about senior Austrian Muslims in cooperation with the Österreichische Mediathek.

At the Austrian Institute of Technology, he worked on the development of lab-on-a-chip systems for cell-based biomedical applications that combine cell biology, nanobiotechnology, biosensors, and materials science with microfabrication technologies. During his post-doc phase at the CellChipGroup, he worked the Faculty of Technical Chemistry at the Vienna University of Technology on lab-on-a-chip systems for the miniaturization of organ barrier models for nanotoxicology and organ-on-a-chip system. Currently, as university assistant and group leader of the "Orthopedic Microsystems" unit at the Karl Chiari Lab for Orthopedic Biology of the Department of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna, he develops biomechanical joint-on-a-chip and organoid approaches for molecular musculoskeletal disease modeling, with special interest in tissue fibrosis, rheumatoid and osteo-arthritis. As vice president of the European Society for Alternatives to animal Testing (EUSAAT) and a passionate experimental in vitro scientist, he tries to follow 3Rs principles and develops authentic and complex human tissue models as complimentary technology for in vivo animal models in biomedical and pharmaceutical research.

Lisa’s research focuses on citizen-state interaction as well as the role of civil society in strengthening democracy. She is interested in how transparent public information and citizen participation can improve the relationship between citizens and government and contribute to more effective public-service delivery. In particular, she studies the potential of leveraging digital technology to organize interaction more effectively. In addition, she focuses on how civil-society organizations promote public participation and empower citizens to participate in politics.
Before joining WU, Lisa worked as a research and teaching assistant at the Institute of Public and Nonprofit Management at Johannes Kepler University Linz. During her doctoral studies, she was a visiting scholar at Suffolk University Boston. She received her doctoral degree in business administration in 2018 with a paper-based dissertation on open government and the exploration and exploitation of external knowledge in the public sector. Her doctoral thesis was awarded with the Goerdeler Preis.

Agnes Scott College Paris Lodron University SalzburgEducational SciencesAnna Leitner is currently working as a Fulbright foreign language teaching assistant at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Atlanta. She teaches a culture class that looks at various aspects of culture and its societal implications as well as language classes.
Anna finished her bachelor's degree in English and geography/economics as teaching subjects in 2021. After that, she taught German as a foreign language at a grammar school in Lincoln, United Kingdom. She is currently working on her master's degree and studying pedagogy at the same time. After that, she plans on pursuing a PhD.
During her studies, Anna's main focus was on bilingualism. Her bachelor's thesis in English was concerned with heritage language learners and the perception of different languages in Austria. At the same time, she conducted research in the field of educational inequality in Austria, which was the topic of her second thesis.
Being able to teach and study at an all-women's college has broadened Anna's horizon and spiked her interest in women and gender studies as well as the inclusion of minorities in the classroom. She intends to use her time as a teaching assistant to learn from the cultural exchange and, in particular, her students in order to conduct some research and write her master's thesis in that field.
