Each year, the Fulbright Commission invites other Fulbright offices within the EU to nominate one or two American grantees to travel to Belgium and Luxembourg for a four-day “EU-NATO Seminar,” where approximately 45 participants learn about the structure and function of European institutions and NATO and how these institutions affect their academic, professional, and personal daily lives. Fulbright Austria has nominated two US Fulbright Students based on the thematic relevance of their projects: Adele Eslinger, who is researching community minority language initiatives (Claremont McKenna/ University of Graz); and Michael Pfurr, who is researching European responses to the Syrian refugee crisis (UNLV/ University of Vienna).
(By invitation only.)
