2019 USTA orientation

First-year USTAs spent a week learning about the Austrian school system, meeting their fellow teaching assistants, and taking their first steps into Austrian culture.

The start of the USTA year always begins with an orientation designed to help incoming US teaching assistants acclimate to Austrian culture in general and the Austrian school system in particular. This year’s orientation featured a first: the first time the USTAs from the western provinces attended orientation in Zell am See.

The atmosphere in both St. Pölten and Zell am See was celebratory and excited, and both executive director Hermann Agis and program officer Dune Johnson had a chance to connect with the USTAs and welcome them to the Fulbright Austria community.
