The winners of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics were announced today and included a familiar name at Fulbright Austria: Anton Zeilinger!
In 1976–77, Anton Zeilinger studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as an Austrian Fulbright student. He returned to Austria to complete his studies at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) and went on to teach at MIT and TU Wien before becoming president of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW).
Anton received the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics jointly with Alain Aspect and John F. Clauser “for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science.”
We would like to congratulate Anton for his inspiring achievement!
