Our Summer Fest on June 6, 2018 was a great success with more than 80 guests, Fulbright Austria alumni and friends, in attendance. With 25 auction items, a video screening of “Good Bye Schmidgasse” and great catering, friends and supporters of Fulbright Austria from near and far raised more than €6,500 for Fulbright Austria programs – including the donations made to our Annual Alumni Fund.

We also are pleased to report that all donations received for Austrian grants will be matched from an incentive fund of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF), resulting in more than €13,000 raised just this June. Since our first call for support last fall, more than 250 donors have contributed to our Annual Alumni Fund with €100 or more. 

A short video, produced again by APA, also captures the first-ever Fulbright Austria Summer Fest and features interviews with our different generations of alumni — from 1951 to 2018!

Most of our Austrian Fulbrighters associate their journey with the legendary staff - Prof. Anton Porhansl and Frau Trude Wild - and the old Fulbright offices at Schmidgasse 14, but we have had the good fortune of calling the MQ our home for a decade now, which we celebrated during our Summer Fest.
