Karin Schachner was born and raised in Upper Austria und enrolled at a young age in a vocational training program. After finishing her apprenticeship, she worked as a technical assistant while simultaneously completing her secondary school degree. Growing up in a small town, she yearned to live in a larger city and decided to move to Vienna to pursue her interests in studying art history. While completing her master’s degree, she worked part time as an administrative assistant in the office of the rectorate at the University of Vienna, where her responsibilities included scheduling the vice rector’s appointments, managing the rectorate’s events of the rectorate, and other common administrative duties. Before starting at Fulbright Austria, Karin was able to build a solid foundation in accountancy in a small firm in Vienna, where she was responsible for day-to-day business transactions and preparatory accounting tasks. Karin joined the Fulbright Austria team as a team assistant in October 2018 and is very excited to be working in an international environment.
