US Fulbright alumni Tashrika Sharma and Alexander McCargar conceived of and created "Perhapsburg," a show of artwork "exploring Vienna not only as it currently exists but into what it could have been and what it can still become." According to their joint artists' statement, "These transformative misinterpretations foreordained by our research interests allowed us to transcend Vienna’s physical appearance." The show was held in Q21's Raum D in the MQ – MuseumsQuartier Wien and attracted over 80 visitors to its one-day opening on March 24, 2017.

Artist Backgrounds:

After completing his studies at Rhode Island School of Design in Fine Arts, Architecture and Art History, Alexander McCargar worked for artists and designers in Providence, RI, New York, and Zürich, Switzerland. He came to Vienna with a Fulbright Combined Grant in 2015 as a guest of the Die Angewandte and the Austrian National Theatermuseum.

Tashrika Sharma graduated from Boston College (2015) studying Mathematics and Studio Art culminating in a math-art thesis. She was a Fulbright Combined Grantee (2015 - 2016) at Die Angewandte refining her thesis results and is currently collaborating with the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) Austria making 3D-printed models.
