The study of religion occupies a central place in the humanities, offering frameworks for examining how individuals and communities construct meaning, articulate belief, and handle the fundamental questions of human existence. For some, such as 2006–07 US Fulbright scholar William Franke, these questions become not just a central part of their studies, but also an essential aspect of their entire professional life.
