What is my individual worldview, what part of my brain do I use when I communicate, and how can I adapt my communication and leadership style to accommodate individuals with different perspectives and styles? These questions and more were dealt with at the first annual regional-advisor workshop, attended by the outgoing 2017/18 regional advisors (RAs) and their incoming 2018/19 counterparts. The workshop was also a chance for program officer Dune Johnson to meet both groups of RAs and get feedback on the USTA program in general and the RA position in particular. As a fun treat, after the workshop the RAs were invited to work in small groups to Exit the Room before time ran out. It was a fun, productive day, and everyone involved is looking forward to an exciting year and to meeting the new USTAs in 2018/19!
