Valentin grew up in rural Upper Austria and moved to Vienna after school to study mathematical methods in economics and history. His interests include statistical analysis of time series data, commodity markets, and economic history. Apart from his studies, Valentin likes to read and sing in a choir. His Fulbright journey brought him to New York City, where he studies economics at the New School for Social Research.
