My stay at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, widened my experience immensely in research,  teaching, understanding the American educational system, and in appreciating the American way of life.  It was not only hard work, but also enjoyable in many respects and helped me in my later career in  university management, especially in the field of student exchange.
