Fulbright is connecting people and countries. Surely true with my experience as I am already living for two years in Bogotá, Colombia thanks to a fellow Colombian Fulbrighter who I met at AU's School of International Service. We both studied peace and conflict resolution, fell in love and are now closely following the peace process with our work. I am now teaching undergrad courses to international relations students and lead a research project about truth commissions, comparing seven cases around the globe and its impact to get learning lessons for the possible truth commission that should be established when the Colombian government and the FARC rebels sign a peace agreement. We both enjoy to work within the transitional justice framework in Colombia, and thanks to Fulbright and the insights obtained at AU, I can have a meaningful impact with my work.
