As part of his Fulbright Specialist residency in Vienna, organized by TONSPUR Kunstverein Wien, Paul D. Miller—also known as DJ Spooky—developed a three-part series of public lectures. In this first lecture, he will present projects that loosely revolve around the book he is currently working on for Duke University Press: Digital Fictions: The Future of Storytelling. The discussion will focus on how narrative shapes how democracy has evolved over the last two thousand years and evolved into a platform-based crisis. Paul will present projects as diverse as compositions recorded in Antarctica to film projects he has composed for directors like Sergei Eisenstein or DW Griffith in his film Rebirth of a Nation.
