Calling Austrian institutions in the arts! In the interest of promoting innovative scholarship, educational exchange, and mutual understanding between the peoples of Austria and the US, Fulbright Austria has created a new opportunity. Beginning in the 2024–25 academic year we offer the Fulbright Specialist in the Arts award.

The Fulbright Specialist in the Arts is modeled after the Fulbright Specialist Program, which pairs highly qualified US academics and professionals with Austrian host institutions to share their expertise, strengthen institutional ties, gain international experience, and learn about Austrian culture while building capacity at their Austrian host institution. Specialists are competitively selected to join the Fulbright Specialist Roster based on their knowledge, skill sets, and ability to make a significant contribution to their host institution. With this specific program, Fulbright Austria will focus on placing Fulbright Specialists in the Arts at Austrian art institutions. The Fulbright Specialist in the Arts will be invited by an Austrian institution for a short-term collaboration of 2–6 weeks.
